Pictures, Like That Last Batch
From what I assume is the episode coming this Saturday:

JACK, DONNA, ROSE, AND THE DOCTOR. Probably my favorite characters of Doctor Who, all in the same scene...

And a hug, just in case we don't actually get one in the actual episode. Because David and Billie are the bestest of best friends. Also, that's a pretty awesome blue cushion. Does that mean that the Doctor and Rose will be doing some falling..?
So hooray!
Is it Saturday yet!?

Regarding Queen Victoria:
Rose: I want her to say, "We are not amused." I bet you five quid I can make her say it.
The Doctor: Well, if I gambled on that, it would be an abuse of my privilege as a traveller in time.
Rose: ...Ten quid?
The Doctor: Done.

Re: Introducing Myself, Delphine
Wow. You're quite excited. Did you get the pictures on a Dr. Who forum or BBC or just the Dr. Who site?
It's just LIFE

Stomach Pump Please
I got them from someone else who got them from the website for Sky(as in Sky One) which..I dunno why they're covering the BBC's stuff.
Yeah, so I'm going to be doing a lot of staring at that hug this week. I regret eating my words, I wish to un-eat them. They're completely right and accurate and HappyDenialLand has never been more appealing. Ever. Argh.
So, RTD promised the biggest cliffhanger ever, and it would be a huge understatement to say that he successfully delivered. My. God.
It's a really really long rant under the spoiler cut regarding the cliff hanger and the Doctor/Rose reunion.
I put this here because it made me lol and feel better after the DOOM of the episode and takes a very serious moment and makes it horribly inappropriate.
Dalek Caan's Prophecy
Oh also, Facebook got a mention by Donna.

10 Wishes For Season Finale
Right, so in two days time, it'll be Saturday and Doctor Who will be wrapping up for the season.
10 Things I Want To Have Happen In No Particular Order:
1. Donna, Rose, Sarah-Jane, and Martha all get along well and swap stories about the Doctor.
It's possible..I mean, Rose and Donna have already met and got along well, Donna and Martha reacted well to each other, and even did a small bit of Doctor Story Swapping and Rose and Sarah-Jane definately are good friends and told stories of the Doctor's geekery.
2. Jack and the Doctor doing something together.
Anything. Because their dynamic is amazingly unchanged between the 10th and 9th Doctor. It's so happily nostalgic. Also, it's just nice to look at.
3. The Doctor and Rose have a Talk.
They have a lot to catch up on and lot to patch up. I think the agenda would cover a. Rose's bad-ass gun b. the horrid Blue Suit of the Doctor's c. the unfinished Bad Wolf Bay sentence and d. life in general. They've both changed a lot since they last saw each other and they've both done a few things they're not so proud of. They're different people now.
4. FLUFF
Just pointless happy moments. Please. pleasepleaseplease. The TARDIS team go out for ice-cream. The Doctor and Rose feed ducks at the park. The Doctor and Mickey have a game of Who Knows Rose The Best. Donna, Rose, Martha, and Sarah-Jane go shopping. Jackie and Sarah-Jane discuss child-rearing. Anything.
5. At least one scene with everyone in it.
It'd be huge and awesome.
6. Nobody dies.
Everyone is too awesome to die.
7. The Doctor and Rose have a proper hug.
It's like required. I'm about 87% sure this will happen.
8. Donna's unanswered question of "Are you and him..?" (regarding the Doctor and Rose) will be finally answered and the annoying question of platonic or not will be gone foreverrrrrrr. I don't even care which way it swings. I just want an answer.
9. Wilf will have a key roll in saving the world.
He's Donna's grandpa and also perhaps the most awesome old guy in televisionland.
10. A happy ending.

I'm Sorry
I was bored and floating around in HappyDenialLand for too long...
Also, I'm mildly ashamed of it, which is why, of all places, it's going here, where I'm sure practically no one will see it, but I'll satisfy my need to show off.

The Finale

"Hah! I've fooled you again!"
"What? What are you talking abou-"
"I'm not actually Rose...I'm DAVROS!!"
"WHAT!? B-But..you've got legs and your arm's not all weird!"
"BWAHAHA, that's what YOU think!"
"It's what I see!"
"Do you really think you could ever destroy me?! The creator of the Daleks?!"
"I did!! Like five times! But, I don't understand, how can you be in this universe?? Where's Rose?!"
"I was Rose..the WHOLE TIME."
"NOOOO! That's a LIE!"
"No it's not!"
"Yes, it must be! There's no way, I mean, that's just-it's impossible!"
"AND SO'S THIS!!" *TARDIS BLOWS UP! AND DONNA FLIES AWAY*
"Actually, that's completely possible."
"And so is being Rose."
"..."
"Yes...NOW DIE."
*DIES*
Millions of fans: ...WHAT?!?
So that was my cracktastic prediction..that was very close to the truth. Davros did return, the Doctor did think for a second that a transmission from Davros (before the picture and sound kicked in) could have been Rose. The TARDIS does blow up quite a bit. Donna didn't fly away, unfortunately, not in the usual sense, but a lazer beam did knock her off her feet and back like two meters which is sort of flying. And the Doctor did practically die when he got shot by a Dalek.
Tah-da!
The 10 Things I wanted:
1. FAIL: They got along, they didnt' have time to swap stories.
2. EPIC FAIL: They didn't do anything together!!
3. FAIL: They didn't have a talk, though point c. was addressed and they can talk all they want now.
4. FAIL: Whatever fluff there was was killed by the depressive anti-fluff.
5. PASS WITH FLYING RAINBOW COLORS: Everyone in the TARDIS, piloting it, like it's supposed to be piloted. 'Coz the TARDIS always needed a crew and the reason the flights with the Doctor are so rough is 'coz there isn't one. BUT THEN THERE WAS. EVERYONE was 'round the TARDIS console and flying it and it was great.

6. EPIC FAIL: So technically, no one died, but Donna had her memories wiped. So the Donna that was created during her travels with the Doctor, the kick-ass super-temp from Chiswick, was gone. And it was sad. Basically, it ruined the whooole episode for me. Doomsday was relatively happy, compared to this.
7. PASS WITH MORE COLORS: They hugged. It was happy. I liked it. Also, they might have got around to doing more than hugging, but it wasn't asking about that. But still, yay for that.
8. PASS: Magically, RTD has managed it so that both a platonic and a sexual relationship can potentially exist. Sci-fi lets you do strange things. This isn't passing 'coz it's answered, really..it's passing because RTD has made me not care about it. It doesn't matter if they acted on it, 'coz he really just loves her so much.
9. PASS: He has a key role and keeping Donna alive, which is the world. Because Donna=world. Donna just pwns. and we love her. Very much.
10. PASS WITH EPIC FAIL: Like I said, conflicted conflicted conflicted.
So it's over. And like I said, it's a very questionable end, where you're left wondering..is it happy or sad? I mean, some parts are undeniably sad, and parts that are definately bitter sweet and then there's just the parts that are..parts..I dunno. I'm in reaction-limbo. I don't hate it, I don't think I love it, but I mean, it wasn't bad..it just..I don't know. I'm confused.
REGARDING THE PLOT:
It was decent. Davros wants to destroy reality. Okie-doke. Donna stops him with genius, and the help of the Doctor. Anything works ever since the season three finale. Seriously though, how could you pay attention to the plot in this thing?? This episode was mostly about the characters.
REGARDING THE ENSEMBLE CASTING:
It's difficult to work with a cast of eight and make them all important. Everyone felt a bit superfluous, like they were only needed for a couple of seconds to do one thing. But they were all needed and they were all awesome. So gold stars to RTD on that one. And I just loved seeing them all together.
REGARDING THE ENDING:
If they cut out the last 20 or so minutes, it would have been perfect, but RTD insists that goodbyes should be said on screen. But seriously, after saving reality, the whole, everyone in the TARDIS to fly Earth back to it's designated slot in the Universe? WAS FUCKING AMAZING AND I LOVED IT. Buuut, of course, it wasn't over.
Sarah-Jane: Her goodbye and reason to leave were perfectly legit and fine. 'Coz she's got a kid to look after and she's too old to be dashing about the stars.
Jack and Martha: They've both got important jobs and Martha's got a fiancee to go back to.
Mickey: Decided to stay in the proper universe and tag along with Martha and Jack to fill in the openings in the Torchwood crew. It seems like just an excuse to get Mickey in Torchwood, but that's ok, because that would be awesome.
Jackie: Returns back to the alt!universe because she's got another son named Tony and her husband, Pete. It makes sense, I loved it.
Donna: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO NO NO NO NO. Basically, Donna gets a bit of Time Lord in her brain, which, while making her brilliant and allowed her to save the day, was slowly killing her, 'coz the brain can't facilitate all that knowledge and memory. So she gets mind-wiped. The Doctor never existed for her. She's supposed to travel with the Doctor forever and make life fantastic for him, 'coz he needs somebody. Really, really, badly.
The Doctor and Rose:
Isn't Science Fiction magical? And he's not even a clone, but the exact same person. Except different. 'Coz he's mostly human. The blue one, that is.
I think..Billie Piper says it best.
"I equated that scene with that moment in Beauty and the Beast. When Belle kisses the Beast and he turns into a man. And you're really happy that he's human, but you're also really upset that Beast is gone. And I always felt like that... *starts laughing* ...at the end! I don't know where I'm going with this! I always felt like... I always felt like she shouldn't be kissing that number two and... and also... he's not the same...and it's all a bit weird."
That's such an apt comparision.
So the Brown-suit Doctor decides to sacrifice Rose so she can live a happy life with the Blue-Him, because someone needs to look after Blue, who is slightly genocidal. Also, he wants Rose happy. She's decidedly conflicted instead. Because on one hand, hey, he's the Doctor, except now we'll be able to grow old together and have babies and stuff, and on the other, Brown is still the Doctor, too and will he always have someone to be with him?
I would have been satisfied by this, if I knew that Brown wouldn't end up all on his own again. Except he did. And now what's worse is, even if he could go back to Rose, she's got Blue to look after. The whole point of Rose coming back is so the Doctor wouldn't be lonely and the show would be happy again. Only it's not! And now, the Doctor gets to torture himself with thoughts that a person who is exactly like him, except better for Rose, gets to be with her and he doesn't. Hooray.
This post has been good therapy. I think I can move on in life now.
Or not.
Because I feel cheated out of my happy ending..and a fantastic snog, because that bit when she was kissing Blue was zoomed into their faces and the scene was cut to other character before going back to them breaking apart essentially making it feel really short when the Confidential showed it to be much longer and with a wide shot, so you could see how they were really into it, as opposed to the face-shot which..was a lot more chaste. No fair.
I just..I don't know.
And what're we supposed to call them now anyway??
10 and 10.5?
Time Lord-Doctor and Human-Doctor?
TV's Doctor and Rose's Doctor?
10 and 10ish?
Blue and Brown?
The Doctor and Hand!Doctor?
I just..really wished we could've gotten that kiss how it was actually presented by Billie and David as opposed to Graeme's cutting of it. It's not 'coz gee, my OTP finally, they get some action, it's just..it was confirmation that they were going to work this out. It was confirmation that Rose was accepting Blue as the Doctor and not a substitute and confirming that Blue loves her just as much as Brown. 'Coz the chaste thing we get at the end of the episode seems more like "Thank you for finishing the sentence" and "Does this work?" It's just..like..here's my lips, they'd like to meet yours. Oh hello! Nice to meet you. As opposed to a proper resolution of four years of not kissing and finally doing it. I sincerely hope that one day, there will exist a director's cut and that this scene gets properly shown.
I think both Billie and David felt it wasn't really a happy ending or at least, felt conflicted about it, because that last scene, with Blue holding Rose's hand and them just staring out blankly and then staring back at each other, in a sort of apprehensive and confused way sort of suggests that they're not satisfied. I mean, back when Rose decided to accept the tenth Doctor for the first time, she didn't stare at him like "..." and he didn't look at her like "...", I mean, yeah, they were holding hands, but when are they not? And yes, it's horribly sad that she's leaving Brown for good, but a bit of leaning into him, a bit of a smile, anything, would have been good. Instead we're left with a feeling that Rose will always be caught up with Brown and Blue will always feel like he's not the one Rose really wants. That's not..nice. I mean, as a viewer, I didn't accept the Tenth Doctor as the real Doctor until that very ending scene of 'Christmas Invasion' in the snow where Rose finally accepts that nothing important has changed. We don't get any indication that Rose accepts this Doctor as the real deal. I'd like to imagine they get over it, because in my mind, they so would...but I mean, could we see them again some time, RTD??
In the orginal script, RTD said Brown gave Blue a part of the TARDIS (which is living) so he could grow his own. That would have been nice to see.
All these questionably canon things that would have comforted a very conflicted person, were cut out. Argh.
I'm not hurting as badly for Donna's memory-wipe, because I'm positive she'll become awesome all on her own again, because she's that brilliant. But I hate that the Doctor has to be alone again. That's the most frustrating and saddening part. It's made worse because you know it's always got to happen. The companions can't stay forever, ever.
It's like an endless mobius strip of being alone and it's definitely been my least favorite aspect of the show.
See, we didn't want Rose back because we were worried about her happiness. We're fans of Doctor Who, not the Rose Tyler Show. I love her a lot and I'd hate to think how depressing her time without the Doctor must have been, but in the end, I'm not watching her life, I'm watching the Doctor's. I know Rose can take care of herself and that she's going to live on and be great, if not fantastic, RTD made the character strong enough to do that. But the Doctor has a warped belief that he's better off alone. It's not fun watching a person repeatedly asking to die. It's not fun to watch a person be lonely and kicked again and again when he's down. According to Julie Gardener (Whose ideals I would normally totally agree with) it shows how much of a hero he is, with his self-sacrifice, but I mean, he wasn't any less heroic when he was happy.
Though I must admit, I'd much rather watch The Rose Tyler Show now than Doctor Who.
Regarding Queen Victoria:
Rose: I want her to say, "We are not amused." I bet you five quid I can make her say it.
The Doctor: Well, if I gambled on that, it would be an abuse of my privilege as a traveller in time.

The Doctor: Done.
